A few questions about nice things...

Who do you most admire?

Too many people to list! But the thing they have in common is their creativity, desire to grow and change and a unrelenting spirit of determination. I’m always in awe of people who truly chase after their dreams, even when it seems that the odds are stacked against them.

What are your favourite possessions?

Old family photos (which still need sorting into an album!), a little jar of soaps which used to sit on the shelf in my Gran’s bathroom and my new sofa – it’s more comfy than I ever thought possible!

Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...

It would begin gently with brunch in bed (always poached egg and avocado on toast) accompanied by a pile of magazines, and hopefully a healthy dose of sunshine streaming in. Once up, we’d head to a market (perhaps Columbia Road or Portobello Road) to hunt out some little treasures before finding a port of call in a nearby pub for a proper lunch, with pudding of course. After that, more meandering around the city, stopping in a gallery to have our creative fix before heading home for a cosy night in with friends. Accompanied by lots of food, board games, music and laughing.

What makes you happiest?

In no particular order: listening the the songs that my husband makes up, reading beautiful prose, that invigorated feeling after a brisk family walk when your cheeks are wind-bitten and rosy, being home and cosy, watching The West Wing, gathering with friends for a no-fuss dinner, playing board games.

What would you like to do in the future?

Write, write, write. Travel more. Cherish moments with family.
